School Uniform

School Uniform

The purpose of the uniform is to ensure children wear practical and appropriate clothes for the range of activities they need to take part in at school; to provide uniformity and to give the children a sense of belonging to our community.

We rely on parents and carers to co-operate with governors and staff by following the uniform policy and sending their children to school wearing appropriate clothing. We encourage parents and carers to contact the school if they are unsure about any aspect of the policy or if they have difficulty abiding by it for any reason.

1. The uniform

The school colours are navy blue and jade green (Note that you do not have to purchase items with the school logo on, as long as the colours are correct):

  • RPS logo polo shirt in jade green
  • RPS logo sweatshirt, cardigan or fleece in navy blue
  • Plain school trousers, shorts, skirt in grey or black, or a blue gingham pinafore dress. These should be from the school uniform range available at stockists such as Tesco and Asda or Direct4Logos. There should be no branding, combat trousers, leggings or frills
  • White, grey or black plain socks or grey or black tights
  • Plain black shoes. Boots, trainers, unnecessary buckles, or decorations are not acceptable
  • You may wish for your child to wear old shoes/trainers that can get muddy for playtimes (especially during wet weather). These can be changed into for break and lunchtimes)

2. PE kit

Children are required a separate set of clothes to change into for PE lessons, as follows:

  • RPS logo royal blue sport top
  • Royal blue shorts
  • RPS logo royal blue hoody
  • Royal blue sports sock (optional)
  • Plain grey or black tracksuit bottoms
  • Plimsolls or trainers

3. Jewellery and hair accessories

Children should not wear jewellery to school.  An exception will be made for pierced ears (plain, small studs only may be worn for safety reasons. Novelty earrings are not acceptable) and if the jewellery is of a religious or medical significance. Please see your child’s class teacher if this is the case.

Children with long hair should wear it tied or clipped back for school.  Hair accessories should be discreet and in black, grey or white.  Novelty headbands are not acceptable.  Extremes in hair styles or colours are not permitted.

4. Uniform Stockists:

RPS uniform is available from Direct4Logos:
